A new class structure
This year will see the Show transition from it’s old class structure, to a much simpler system. In the old system we had 11 Classes with subclasses under each. Whilst that system did give us a clear breakdown of classes, it did lead to issues with exporting database data to a spreadsheet. The new system starts numbering classes at 1 through to 57. Each Class will include the Class description as well as other information. We hope this also helps with those Wineries who enter other wine shows using Show Runner. Next year there are even more changes on the horizon, that we hope will make entering and judging an easier experience for all.
Also of note; the OUT OF REGION Class introduced last year will have a name change. It will now be called OPEN Class, which is more reflecting of its style. Same rules (found here) apply in that wines from any region still need to be produced by a winery located in one of GI’s we cover. These GI’s can be found here. So if you have a wine that is made from fruit sourced from the Barossa and your winery is located in one of the GI’s we cover as a regional show, by all means enter it. It will still get a medal,
